About COSDRA
The Concern for sustainable development and resilience in Africa (COSDRA) is a development and relief organization that empowers communities through sustainable community-driven development initiatives.
COSDRA was founded by local Youths in MANDERA TOWN ( MANDERA COUNTY) and development practitioners who were concerned about the huge and widening humanitarian needs, deepening vulnerabilities and huge development gaps in its target region.
COSDRA is registered as a Community Based Organization with Ministry of East Africa Community, Labour and Social Protection, Department of Social Development of Kenya
(Reg. No. DSD/9/44/02/167422) and it has been in existence in 2020. The organization’s ‘theory of change’ is anchored on working with our target communities to identify challenges, design interventions and mobilize resources to address them. We strive to pursue long-term and sustainable development in collaboration with the beneficiary communities, government, development Partners and relevant stakeholders.
The Organizational Structure of COSDRA
The Organization is established with 11 members. The governance of CSDRA comprises of the general membership, the Board, and field Officers. The Board is the Overseer of all the operations of the organization.
It comprises of the: –
i)The Director
ii)Deputy Director
iii)Secretary
iv)Treasurer
v)Three Committee members.
The Secretariat are full-time workers of the Organization and they are in charge of the day-to-day running of the organization which comprises of: –
- Programmes Manager
- Office Administrator
- Two (2) Programme Officers
- Advocacy/Gender
- Income Generating Activities
- Community development/Community mobilization/sensitization.
